The CETME G3 Project

The CETME G3 Project

What is this now? The 8th blog post? So its time to change it up a bit, with a custom gun build all the way from the 1950's. If your not familiar with the H&K G3 then here's some back story. The G3 was a select fire battle rifle, chambered in 7.62 x 51mm. Designed by German weapons manufacturer Heckler & Kock, who were in collaboration with the Spanish armament company CETME. The original models of the rifle came with wood furniture, which is what we can build for you. Later models came with polymer furniture, but that's not what you've come here for.

The build

Okay, first thing we're going to need is a base rifle, and you can provide either your rifle or we can get one for you. The rifle we would get you would be the Classic Army SAR G3 replica. This will cost you £300 with a full metal body as well as a durable gearbox on the inside. Onto the furniture, which is leftover from when the German military changed to a more modern, lightweight polymer design. Installing the wooden furniture to the replica rifle takes time as its not a simple fit, due to the Classic army G3 not being built in the same way. We charge £150 to install the kit, and that includes carefully running the wiring into the stock. Which was never meant to take a battery, however we can get one in there.

This rifle is an absolute head turner at events, and you are very unlikely to see multiple at your next game day. The price for this build is £450 and we can guarantee you wont be disappointed. If you have anymore questions or are interested in this project then feel free to email us at: or give us a call on 0208 292 6548

If you want to see one of these lovely rifles in person come down to the store, where I keep my personal one on display.

This is my first blog post, but certainly not my last, regards Hutch
